What is the UAEG?
It is an alumni community composed of first-class graduates from the University of Benin's Faculty of Agriculture.
What is its core mission?
The guild is committed to promoting academic excellence, offering structured mentorship, and driving professional growth and innovation for agricultural students.
Who runs the Guild?
The Guild is guided by an Executive Council (Exco) of accomplished first-class alumni across agriculture, research, leadership, public service, and global professional communities, together with a Board of Trustees that provides oversight, continuity, and counsel. Is UAEG a registered/formal association?
Yes. The Guild operates under its Constitution (the "University of Benin Agriculture First Class Scholars' Association"), which is available as a PDF in the Governance section, alongside details of the Executive Committee and Trustees.
Who can become a member of UAEG?
Membership centres on first-class graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin. The Guild also engages current students of the Faculty through mentorship, awards, and webinars, so students who aspire to excel are encouraged to connect with the community.
Can a student still benefit?
Absolutely. Much of the Guild's work is directed at current students: academic awards and scholarships, mentorship from first-class alumni, and webinars on study abroad, careers, research, and professional growth. You can register your interest under "Guild membership" on the contact form.
What awards does the Guild give?
UAEG recognises outstanding students in the Faculty of Agriculture. Award categories include Best Student in Academic Performance at 200, 300, and 400 levels, and the flagship Overall Best Graduating Student award for the Faculty of Agriculture.
