​Membership

​Association membership encompasses all alumni who gained admission into the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Benin and graduated with a First-Class Honours degree, regardless of department. Voting members hold equal rights, and membership is open to all qualified individuals without discrimination based on religious belief, ethnic background, or personal views. Database records are maintained for all members, and specific guidelines govern voluntary exits and readmission to our digital platforms.

Officials and Executive Leadership

​Managed by the AGR First Class Working Committee, the executive team consists of eight core portfolios: Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer (PRO), and Welfare Officer. Except for the top leadership roles, appointed executives serve a two-year term, overseeing association operations, financial reporting, and the organization of an independent electoral committee (ELECO) prior to tenure expiration.

Excellence Award Structure

​To celebrate academic brilliance, the association sponsors the UNIBEN AGR First Class Excellence Awards. This initiative grants a certificate and 100,000 per academic year to the best performing students by GPA across 200, 300, and 400 levels, and 200,000 plus a certificate to the overall best graduating student from the 500 level. First-class graduates are formally inducted into the association, while non-first-class overall best graduating students receive mentorship and financial prizes without association induction.

​Fundraising and Financial Contributions

​ ​Association projects and awards are sustained through voluntary member donations and structured annual commitment contributions. Suggested annual contributions are tiered based on post-graduation experience: 5,000 for members under 3 years post-graduation, 10,000 for 3 to 10 years, 15,000 for over 10 years, and a minimum baseline contribution of 1,000 for those unable to meet higher tiers.

​Group Regulation and Conduct

​ ​Official communication platforms are strictly regulated to maintain a professional, respectful, and civil environment. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, and disrespect toward executive members are strictly prohibited. Violations are managed through structured disciplinary measures, which include member kicks, temporary bans, or long-term bans depending on the infraction

​Amendment of Regulations

​The rules and regulations outlined in the constitution remain binding on every member until modified. Any amendments, alterations, or updates to the constitution require a formal resolution supported by a two-thirds majority vote of the house.
